Easy Crochet Baby Booties

Size H hook.
1 ball of 4-ply worsted weight yarn.
Abbreviations:
sc: single crochet, dc: double crochet, hdc: half double crochet, ch: chain, sts: stitches, sl st: slip stitch
Sole:
Ch 26
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd chain from the hook and in each sts across. (25 hdc) Ch 2 (counts as dc on next row), turn.
Row 2-3: Hdc in each dc across to the end. (25 hdc) Ch 2, turn.
Row 4: Dc in each Hdc across to the end, turn.
Row 5 (begins top of the bootie): sl st in first 5 dc's, Ch 3, Dc in the same stitch (Counts as 1 Dc) and in each dc across, leaving 4 unworked sts at the end. (17 dcs) Ch 3, turn.
Rows 6-7: Dc in each dc across (17 dcs), making sure to dc in the last stitch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 8 (top edge): Sc in first st closest to the hook, Ch 3, sc in next st, repeat across top to make a ruffle.
Finishing:
Fold piece in half and whip stitch using craft needle and yarn. Next, turn booties inside out, shaping to make them more rounded. Fold the ruffle down. Finally, weave a length of ribbon and tie into a bow.
